People often assume that belief and knowledge are opposites, with belief being in the realm of religion and knowledge in the realm of science. In reality, belief is far from just a religious phenomenon and is something we rely on all the time, in science just as much as in everyday situations.
In this talk, Fr. Adam Hincks, SJ, will explain how belief and knowledge fit together, and what they have to do with religious faith.
Fr. Hincks holds a Ph.D. in physics and a master’s degree in theology. He is an assistant professor, jointly appointed to the Departments of Astronomy & Astrophysics and to St. Michael’s College, at the University of Toronto, where he is the Sutton Family Chair in Science, Christianity, and Culture.
