SACRED heART Event Pictures
On Tuesday, May 6, the parish hosted an evening on art and faith entitled SACRED heART. This event was co-sponsored by the parish and the Office of Catholic Youth. At the event, Dr. Christina Labriola gave a talk on the relationship between faith and art and artist Anna Mancini shared her paintings. Beautiful music was provided by the group “Ensemble Ex nihilo.” There was a great turnout. Thank you to all who contributed. Continue reading

Today we honour mothers. We take time to celebrate our mothers and the many maternal figures in our lives. We are grateful for the gift of their love, care and nurturing, not only today, but always. We also remember the mothers who are no longer with us, but whose memories we will always cherish. Happy Mother’s Day!
A Mother’s Day Story and Blessing
Every year on Mother’s Day, I love to tell the story of an episode of Sesame Street that I recall from many years ago.
The muppet puppets were featured in a story in which a little boy was separated from his mother. As the boy was crying in the town’s piazza because he could not find his mother, the king of that town came upon him and asked him why he was crying. The little boy responded that he had been separated from his mother and could not find her. Continue reading

Throughout the centuries, art has been a medium through which many have experienced and come to know about God. You are invited to an evening to encounter the God of Hope through the arts of music and painting. On own pilgrim journeys to the Kingdom of Heaven, God often uses art to speak to us and restore us to hope. Through the art of artist Ana Mancini and the music and theological reflections of Dr. Christina Labriola, you are invited to consider how might discover the hope of Jesus’ love in the Sacred Heart through music and art. Free Admission – All are Welcome!
