Please tie your donation bags to prevent spoiling. \nThere will be a truck parked behind the church on the North side of Markham Street all weekend between 9am and 7pm.

DESCRIPTION:The Parish Community of St. Peter’s is a very socially conscious and active community. The parish hosts many outreach programmes. Despite that\, we do not have a Social Justice Committee. Such a Committee would direct the parish’s efforts to study and understand the Church’s social teachings. In the hopes of starting a Social Justice Committee\, Mr. Porfirio Garcia\, from the Office of Faith Formation and Discipleship\, will be visiting our parish to lead an evening discussion on hope to start a Social Justice Committee in our parish. Anyone who might be interested in assisting with this project is invited this important meeting on Tuesday\, May 8th at 7:00 pm in the St. Paul’s room in the Centre at 830 Bathurst Street. Please consider coming!

SUMMARY:Thanksgiving Food-Drive for the Good Shepherd Mission
DESCRIPTION:The Good Shepherd Mission in Toronto looks after many of the city’s homeless and helps them find a warm meal all year round. Each year they rely on the generosity of Torontonians who are able to donate food to make their mission possible. This year the parish will be sponsoring a Thanksgiving Food Drive to support the Good Shepherd Mission. Please consider donating canned tuna\, canned meat\, canned fruit or vegetables\, canned soups and stews\, peanut butter\, jam\, cereal teabags\, instant coffee\, cookies\, rice\, and crackers. Please no fresh fruits or vegetables or frozen food. Some parishes decorate their sanctuaries with flowers on the Thanksgiving weekend. Let us decorate ours with food to be offered to those in need. \nPlease bring your non-perishable food donations to any of our Sunday Masses on the Thanksgiving weekend-Oct. 7-8
