DESCRIPTION:Pope Francis and a New Way of Being Church:\nReflecting on the legacy of the first Jesuit Pope \nA 6 Part Faith Formation Series that surveys the contributions of Pope Francis using his encyclicals\, apostolic exhortations\, letters and other ecclesiastical documents.\nFacilitated by Sister Carla Thomas\, O.P.\, Ph.D.\n(of the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena)\nAll Are Welcome! \nWednesdays ~ 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm \n\nOctober 15: Mercy\, Hope and Holiness – What Francis tried to accomplish through the extraordinary jubilee of mercy in 2016 and his dream for the jubilee of hope in 2025.\nOctober 22: Synodality and Ministry – Concept of synodality as introduced by Pope Francis and what it means for communion\, participation and mission in the church.\nOctober 29: Integral Ecology – Francis’ landmark encyclical Laudato Si’ of 2015 as well as the apostolic exhortation Laudate Deum published in 2023.\nNovember 12: Human Relationships – Francis’ contributions to family life. Special attention will be given to his apostolic exhortations Amoris Laetitia and Christus Vivit.\nNovember 26: Evangelization and Mission – Francis’ ideas as presented in Evangelii Gaudium\, Querida Amazonia and Fratelli Tutti.\nDecember 3: Liturgy – Francis’ encyclical Dilexit nos as well as his apostolic letter Desiderio Desideravi.
