DESCRIPTION:At this meeting\, there will be a presentation on the computer technology support services. “Connected Canadians” is a not-for-profit group dedicated to removing digital barriers by providing free technology training and support to older Canadians (50 and over) across the country. The St. Peter’s Wisdom Group would like to invite all interested parishioners to come and learn about the range of tutorials\, workshop skills and customized one-on-one mentorship offered by Connected Canadians\, and how to access these services. The presentation will take place on May 23 at 9:30 in our Parish Auditorium and will be delivered by a Connected Canadians mentor virtually through a live Zoom link. The meeting will be broadcast on the auditorium projector screen so we will be able to see him on-screen and pose any questions we may have. SUMMARY:Love Thy Neighbour – We’re more beautiful when we come together!
DESCRIPTION:St Peter’s Seniors Wisdom group will be meeting on Thursday June 6\, 2024\, starting at 10:30 am in the Church auditorium. The theme Love Thy Neighbour is back just in time for Canada Day. We thought it would be wonderful to come together\, united together as children of God\, to enjoy various ethnic dishes in a potluck style gathering. I hope to see you all there\, with your friends and family\, and a dish specific to your culture\, your country of origin\, to share with everyone.  Food is more than sustenance; it is a blessing from God that nourishes our body and brings us together. \nWe are so fortunate to have a guest speaker come and share her story of when she immigrated to Canada from Colombia at the age of 19 and found hope in her Catholic faith.  Margarita went on to eventually work as a nurse with the Sisters of St. Joseph\, at their private residence/hospital. She also led the 40 days for life campaign in Toronto\, she is also part of the Natural Family planning in Toronto\, she helps in Marriage Prep at various parishes\, part of the Charismatic Renewal at Our Lady of Guadalupe church\, and also a co-worker with the Sisters of Life\, helping to minister to the Spanish speaking women they serve.  Margarita is also a wife\, and a mother of 2 boys and 1 dog and a good friend. We also have Taichi Master Timothy back by popular demand\, who will be joining us just after Margarita’s presentation. We are looking forward to spending time with all of you\, during this time of sharing and community.  For where two or three are gathered in my name\, there am I among them~ Matthew 18:20

SUMMARY:Diving Deeper into Our Faith - Adult Formation Program
DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in learning more about our Catholic faith?  Do you have questions or want to grow in your understanding of God\, the history of the Church\, prayer or social justice?  Please consider joining us as we address these topics in a four part adult faith formation program over the next year\, starting September 18th\, 2024 to April 2nd\, 2025. \nEach Wednesday evening\, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm\, Sonal Castelino\, M. Div\, (Director of Mission and Ministry at the University of St. Michael’s College)\, will animate a discussion on various topics within four themes – 1. God and the Trinity; 2. The Church and Christian Community; 3. Catholic Social and Moral Teaching; and 4. DESCRIPTION:The parish will celebrate a Mass with the Sacrament of the Anointing of the sick on Sunday\, September 29\, at 1:30 PM. The Sacrament of the sick can be celebrated for any person who is ill and in danger of death or elderly. The sacrament is intended to bring physical and spiritual healing to those who are seriously ill. It also asks God for the grace to accept the suffering that comes with serious illness or diminished health due to age. DESCRIPTION:In the month of November it is our tradition to pray for our beloved. The parish will have a “Book of Remembrance” for the faithful departed and the names of all those family members written in it will be remembered at all masses throughout November. Parishioners may add names of deceased family members or friends for whom they wish the parish to offer prayers during this season of remembrance. On November 2\, All Souls day the parish will have Masse for All Souls at 12 noon. The parish has invited the families of those who have had a death this year to the 12 noon Mass. \nPlease note that the Mass on Saturday\, Nov. 2 at 5:00 PM is a Sunday Mass.
