He has been an anti-euthanasia activist for six years and has done myriad speeches\, interviews and written numerous pieces on the subject. It is more important than ever that we become educated about euthanasia and the danger it presents to all of us – and not be seduced by the anti-life idea of “mercy killing ” in the St. Paul’s Room in the Centre.

SUMMARY:Lecture: Traitors to Rome or Friends of the Empire?
DESCRIPTION:Join us on February 28th\, 2017 at 7 pm in the Parish Centre\, St. Paul’s Classroom\, for a lecture by Fr. Séamus Hogan on the persecution of Christians in the Early Church. \nFr. Séamus Hogan \nBorn into a large Catholic family\, Fr. Séamus heard a call to the priesthood while at university\, and was eventually ordained by Cardinal Aloysius Ambrozic at St. Michael’s Cathedral\, Toronto in 2002. After ordination he served at Blessed Trinity parish in North York until 2005 when he was moved to Merciful Redeemer in Mississauga. In both parishes he was intensely involved with youth and young adult ministries. After a couple of years\, he undertook further studies in Rome\, where he earned a doctorate in Church History in 2011. At present he is assistant professor of history at St. Augustine’s Seminary\, where he also teaches priestly spirituality and assists in priestly formation and spiritual direction. One of his great joys is to share his love of history and spirituality with parish groups throughout the city.

SUMMARY:Movie Night Planning Meeting
DESCRIPTION:St. Peters Parish will be hosting four courtyard movie nights this coming summer. There will be two movies in July and two in August\, the dates have not yet been confirmed\, however\, they will remain on Saturday nights. \nWe are having a meeting for anyone who would like to volunteer to help with this event. Past volunteers and new volunteers are encouraged to attend this meeting. The meeting will cover volunteer logistics and next steps. \nThe meeting will be held on Wednesday\, March 29\, 2017\, at 7 pm\, in the St. Peter’s church auditorium.  If you are unable to attend and would like to volunteer feel free to contact myself via email or phone to be added to the list or to set up a meeting to talk. \nWe look forward to seeing as many people as possible to make this event a success.
