SUMMARY:Ash Wednesday Masses
DESCRIPTION:The 40 days of Lent are a special time of spiritual renewal in the Church.   Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. The parish will have two Masses on Ash Wednesday with the distribution of Ashes. These will be at 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM in the Church. During Lent the Stations of the Cross will be prayed Friday evenings in the Church after 7:00 PM Mass. \nOn Ash Wednesday\, confessions will take place in the Church after the 7 PM Mass until 9 PM

SUMMARY:Mass for the Solemnity of the Annunciation and the Consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, March 25th\, 2022\, the parish will celebrate an additional Mass at 12 noon for the Solemnity of the Annunciation and the Consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This Mass will be in addition to the parish’s 8:00 a.m. Mass and Friday Lenten Mass at 7:00 p.m. The additional noon Mass will be celebrated at the same time as our local bishop and the Holy Father will be celebrating Mass at the cathedral and at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome to consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. \nOn Friday\, March 25th\, 2022\, the parish will also have adoration from 8:30 a.m.\, following the 8:00 a.m. Mass\, until the Mass at noon to pray for peace in Ukraine. \nPlease come and celebrate this important solemnity\, join in praying for the consecration of Russia and Ukraine\, and praying for peace in Ukraine. \nPlease also consider praying this prayer for peace in Ukraine at home: \n God of реасе and justice\, \nwe pray for the реорlе of Ukraine today. \nWe pray for реaсе and the laying down of weapons. \nWe pray for аll those who fear for tomorrow\, \nthat your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. \nWe pray for those with power over war or реасе\, \nfor wisdom\, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. \nAbove аll\, we pray for аll your precious children\, at-risk and in fear\, \nthat you would hold and protect them. \nWe pray in the name of Jesus\, the Prince of Реасе. \nAmen.

SUMMARY:The Synod on Synodality: Share Your Thoughts on the Church
DESCRIPTION:Pope Francis has launched the Synod on Synodality\, an ambitious two-year global process of listening to the faithful. \n“Synod” comes from an ancient Greek word meaning “walking together on the road.” There have been many synods in the history of the Church\, but these have traditionally been opportunities for bishops to come together to determine the path forward for the Church. \nWith the Synod on Synodality\, Pope Francis is asking every Catholic to help discern what the Holy Spirit is telling us at this moment as the Church enters its third millennium. \nThe first phase of the Synod on Syndodality will last through the first half of 2022 and will see the world’s faithful sharing their thoughts at a diocesan level. All those diocesan-level responses will be collected and summarized. Then the bishops of Canada will meet to discuss what they heard in their respective dioceses\, followed by larger multinational meetings and\, ultimately\, culminating in a synod of bishops in the Vatican in 2023. \nParishioners are invited to participate in this process by coming to two discussion evenings on Thursday\, March 31st and Thursday\, April 7th at 7:00 pm in the parish hall.
