SUMMARY:Lecture: From Jerusalem to the Ends of the World
DESCRIPTION:Join us on November 8th at 7 pm in the Parish Centre\, St. Paul’s Classroom\, for a lector by Fr. Séamus Hogan on the unbelievable story of Christianity’s rise from Jewish sect to World Religion. \n  \n  \nFr. Séamus Hogan \nBorn into a large Catholic family\, Fr. Séamus heard a call to the priesthood while at university\, and was eventually ordained by Cardinal Aloysius Ambrozic at St. Michael’s Cathedral\, Toronto in 2002. After ordination he served at Blessed Trinity parish in North York until 2005 when he was moved to Merciful Redeemer in Mississauga. In both parishes he was intensely involved with youth and young adult ministries. After a couple of years\, he undertook further studies in Rome\, where he earned a doctorate in Church History in 2011. At present he is assistant professor of history at St. Augustine’s Seminary\, where he also teaches priestly spirituality and assists in priestly formation and spiritual direction. One of his great joys is to share his love of history and spirituality with parish groups throughout the city.

DESCRIPTION:St. Peters Parish will be hosting three Courtyard Movie Nights this coming summer. There will be two movies in July and one in August.  Dates for the movie nights have not yet been confirmed but will be held on either a Friday or Saturday night. \nWe will be having a meeting for anyone who would like to volunteer to help with this event.  Past volunteers and new volunteers are encouraged to attend this meeting. SUMMARY:A Week Long Busy Person's Retreat
DESCRIPTION:For Whom:\nAdults \nTime-Frame:\n \n\nOpening Session – Sunday\, February 14 (after the 6:00 p.m. evening Mass)\nClosing Session – Saturday\, February 20 (after the 5:00 p.m. evening Mass)\n\nDescription of Retreat:\nThe retreatants will meet after Mass in the Church. After an explanatory introduction\, they will be given daily gospel reflections for the week of prayer and asked to commit themselves to an hour of prayer daily (can be divided up i.e. 1/2 hour in morning and ½ hour in evening or in 15 min. sections). Desired half hour meetings by appointment with a spiritual guide will be available at the Centre from Tuesday – Thursday from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. or in the evenings from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  Closure will include debriefing / sharing\, suggestions on how to continue one’s spiritual journey and a social.
