For those of you who are as old as I am, it can be hard to believe that it has been almost twenty years since we began the new millennium. Given the expectations that awaited the change of millennium in 1999, it is actually amazing how well things have gone. At the end of the 1990’s, there were all sorts of scenarios about how the world was going to end when the clock struck midnight and the new millennium came in. Not too surprisingly, there are many historical accounts which tell of the same kind of hysteria at the time of the millennia change in the year 999. One of the biggest concerns in 1999 was a fear that all computers were going to shut down because they had not been programmed in order to take into account the new dating for the years 2000 and after. Shepherd’s Trust Collection – November 16-17
The Shepherd’s Trust cares for those who always cared for us – our retried priests who have faithfully served parish communities throughout the Archdiocese of Toronto for many years. The Shepherd’s Trust recognizes their faithfulness, their many years of service to us, and the strong ties we have to them by ensuring that funds collected in parishes served by priests be given as a contribution towards the retirement of our priests. The Shepherd’s Trust collection takes place next weekend-November 16-17. Thank you for your generous support!

Remembrance Day
On November 11th, we remember in thanksgiving those who made and who continue to make the supreme sacrifice for us in time of war. We pray that the offering of their lives may not have been in vain. Today we dedicate ourselves to the cause of justice, freedom and peace, and for the wisdom and strength to build a better world. May we keep all those who are overseas in our prayers, that they may return home safely
