The Young Families Group will be hosting its first Christmas Posada at St. Peter’s. A Posada is a traditional Mexican Advent celebration symbolizing Mary and Joseph’s pilgrimage as they enter Bethlehem, in search for a place to stay where Jesus could be born. Come join us on Sunday, December 18th after 11:15 AM Mass at the Parish Hall to enjoy a typical Posada procession, Christmas carols, Mexican treats, and breaking a piñata!! Every year the parish relies on the generosity of parishioners to decorate the church with flowers. If you would like to make a donation to purchase flowers, please make your donation by using the envelope “Flowers For Christmas ” marked with your name, address and envelope numbers. Thank you for your generosity.

Advent confessions will be held in the Church on Saturday, December 17, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. or by appointment.  Please plan on joining your fellow parishioners in this time of spiritual healing as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ.

Offering Envelopes for 2017 will be available at the back of the church starting December 3rd. The boxed sets will be organized alphabetically. Please make sure to pick up only the box with your name on it. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE 2017 ENVELOPES UNTIL THE NEW YEAR BEGINS.

You are invited to a special gathering to celebrate the Advent-Christmas season on Thursday, December 8 in the Centre auditorium from 1:15 – 3:00 p.m. There will be a prayer service followed by a social. To add to this celebration you are invited to contribute a “potluck” contribution to the refreshments. Plan to join us and bring a friend!

The Office of Vocations invites single Catholic men, 17 years and older to attend a Vocations Discernment Retreat from Dec 9 to 11, 2016 at Manresa Spiritual Renewal Centre, Pickering. (Starts on Friday at 7 pm). This is a good retreat for men who are at crossroads in discerning God’s desired Vocation for them. The retreat offers Guided reflections, Holy Mass, Adoration, confession and the assistance of a vocations team. Suggested donation of $150 to help cover costs.
