Evangelization in the Square
From Pentecost Sunday, May 14 until June 12, the parish will be hosting a project of Evangelization. Members of the New Catechumenate Movement will be in front of our Church from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM on Sunday afternoons to witness to our Catholic faith to those who pass by our Church. They will provide music and faith sharing. Please drop by and witness.
Catholic Education Week – May 1-6, 2016 – Opening Doors of Mercy!
We invite all parishioners to join in celebrating Catholic Education Week 2016, which runs from May 1-6. For more than 160 years, Ontario’s publicly funded Catholic schools have been integrating our faith into all aspects of school life, nurturing the gifts and talents of every student. We celebrate the distinct contribution that Catholic schools provide, giving thanks and offering our prayers for all those who faithfully journey with our young people each day. Refugee Family Update
The Family that our parish is sponsoring is presently living safely in a refugee camp in Jordan. Because the government has made Syrian families who are in danger a priority, the application of this family’s visa is not being processed very quickly. We are still expecting their arrival. All those who are saving furniture and household goods for their arrival are thanked for their patience. Please stay tuned for more information.
First Holy Communion Celebrations
First Holy Communion Celebrations will take place on:
Saturday, May 7th at 5:00 PM & Sunday, May 8th at 11:15AM
The children and their families that have been preparing for many months will celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist for the first time. Please pray for them all.

Working wonders for the elderly…
Elva is a client in her late 70’s who spent her life overcoming the challenges of Spine Bifida. Despite her physical disabilities, Elva travelled the world as a music teacher and pianist for the National Ballet in Canada. Wheelchair bound for the last 25 years, Elva gradually found herself less able to continue playing the piano and doing the things she enjoyed. Last year, the Society of Sharing matched Elva with a friendly visitor, Adam a young university student, with whom she can converse with as though there were no age difference. Adam is seen as an encouraging and familiar friend and someone to share ideas with as well as assist her with her cell phone, computer and printer. With his help,Elva is able to go to out to the movies or see local sights. Because of Adam, Elva’s world has opened up and she is now reconnected to her community and able to share her incredible gifts of wit, intelligence, and positive attitude, giving her a renewed sense of meaning and purpose. This year, our support for ShareLife will help to expand this volunteer model into the Peel Region to assist seniors in this area. Last year ShareLife-supported agencies provided outreach programs that met the needs of over 2,200 seniors. This year, with your support, we can do more to help the elderly within our archdiocese.
Next ShareLife Sunday is May 29, 2016
Please give generously. You can work wonders!
