Fall Fair 2015!

Fall-Fair-2015-R1-copy

St. Peter’s Fall Fair is our annual get together and fund-raising event.

It’s part flea market, part hidden treasure hunt, and a BIG part food festival! We are a multicultural parish and the foods on offer come from our amazing Italian, Portuguese, Filipino, Korean, and German parishioners… heck the whole world is on offer!

We are always open to donation, but please no junk. This is our big fundraiser for the year, and it costs us money to throw out leftover stuff. Think of the nice things you don’t need any longer and consider donating them to the St. Peter’s Fall Fair.

And we always need volunteers to handle everything from the bake sale to running the cash.

Fall Fair Schedule:
Saturday, October 3 – 12 Noon – 7 PM
Sunday, October 4 – 10 AM – 8 PM

Why Did Jesus Come to Be With Us?

01ac8abace127610f4fb61f3fb3246d6One of the truly amazing and humbling things about being a priest is the types of different intimate and sacred moments that people will invite a priest to be a part of because through the Sacraments the priest makes Christ present at some of life’s most important times. Perhaps the most significant time that a priest can be asked to be a part of a person’s life is at their bedside when they are sick or dying. Often, with an individual’s closest loved ones, a priest is among the last people that a sick individual will deal with as part of their earthly pilgrimage. In these moments a priest helps to make Christ present here on earth to one who is about to be present with God face to face for all eternity. Continue reading

Please Help Syrian Refugees by Donating to Project Hope

In response to the global refugee crisis, Cardinal Thomas Collins has launched “Project Hope,” a special emergency appeal. This 100-day campaign aims to raise $3 million in order to settle 100 refugee families in the Archdiocese of Toronto as soon as possible. The effort will also require 100 volunteer committees to assist with settlement services. To make a donation to support the appeal, visit: www.archtoronto.org or call (416) 934-3411.

You can also donate through our parish with a cheque made payable to St. Peter’s Church -Project Hope-Refugee Sponsorship.

We continue to pray for all those suffering, mindful of our call to welcome the stranger in our midst.  Those interested in assisting with volunteer committees should contact the Office for Refugees at (647) 780-0827.
