There is a rather simple story about death that I heard several years ago. Because it captures so concisely how I think we as Christians feel about death, I usually tell this story at every funeral I celebrate, either at the funeral home prayers or in the homily at Mass.

The story simply goes like this:

A preacher was preaching to a congregation. He said, “if anyone wants to go to heaven, please stand up now.” Everyone in the congregation stood up. He then said, “if you want to go now, keep standing.” At this point, everyone sat down. Continue reading

We will be accepting this year’s Fall Fair donations starting Friday Sept 1, 2023. Please deliver your donations to the parish office. This year, the Winter Welcome Table is in need of funding, so a good portion of the proceeds will be donated to funding that project.

Flower Donation

The parish is currently seeking enthusiastic volunteers willing to contribute $20.00 each towards the creation of splendid table centerpieces for our upcoming Fall Fair, scheduled for Saturday, September 30th and Sunday, October 1st. Our vision for the event includes elegant floral arrangements that will grace both the tables and the stage, adding a touch of beauty to the festivities.

As a token of our gratitude, those who choose to contribute to the floral arrangements will have the delightful opportunity to take home an equivalent number of arrangements as their contribution. It’s a way for us to extend our appreciation and share the vibrant atmosphere of the Fall Fair.

If you are interested in making a meaningful contribution, we kindly request that you provide your name, contact information, and a $20 contribution to Diana at the parish office. To ensure timely arrangements, we plan to place the flower order on September 18th. Therefore, we kindly ask you to submit your donation and information to the parish office before this date.

Additionally, we wish to express our gratitude to our generous sponsors by featuring their names alongside the flowers – for instance, “Donated by: Donor’s Name.” Following the fair, the beautiful floral arrangements will be available for the donors to take home, allowing the beauty and memories of the Fall Fair to linger on.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to contribute to our Fall Fair’s ambiance and success.
