Living the Gospel by evangelizing our faith in the greater world..

St. Anthony’s parish in the Diocese of Guntur in India has nine mission stations which are between 10-15 kilometres away from the parish. There are nearly 350 Catholic families and five hundred children going to school from these areas. As the mission stations are a distance from the parish, the faithful do not experience many religious activities. Father Mayakuntala Kumar, pastor of the parish, with the support of the Pastoral Mission Fund and ShareLife, is conducting a Children Faith Formation Camp to help the children to become rooted in the Catholic faith. With our support, Father Kumar is helping to evangelize the faith not only for today, but for the future as well.

St. Peter’s Office will be closed on Easter Monday, April 17. Daily Mass on that day will be at 10:00 AM in the Centre Chapel. There will be no adoration on that day.

The parish will have a spring bazaar and bake sale on the weekend of May 6 and May 7. It will take place on Saturday, May 6 from 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Sunday, May 7 from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Please come and support the parish at our Spring Bazaar.

In order that the Parish community of St. Peter’s might always be a warm and welcoming place for those who visit, the parish needs more people to participate in the ministry of greeting and welcoming. Those who exercise this ministry greet people before Mass, assist with the collection and help people to find the way around the parish community. If you would be interested in this ministry, please call the parish office to sign up (416-534-4219). There will be a workshop for new greeters/ushers on Saturday, April 29th at 2:00 PM  in the Church.

Good Friday, April 14, after 3:00 PM service commemorating the Passion of our Lord.

There will be NO confessions on Holy Saturday.

Vision: To become an informal, interactive group of Catholic women who wishes to share/explore relevant, contemporary spiritual and familial/social issues while creating an environment of mutual faith and friendship.

Living the Gospel by supporting the Deaf community…

Taavi wasn’t engaged at his school or in extracurricular sports and as a Deaf person, he faced obstacles trying to join his hearing peers. His mom encouraged him to try to participate in the Deaf community. His life changed when he joined a Deaf basketball fun day hosted by Silent Voice and met Mike, Director of the Silent Voice Child and Family Program. He joined a Deaf sports team, began a co-op position with Silent Voice in his 4th year of high school, and was hired as a counselor in the Silent Voice Sign Language Summer day camp. He continues to volunteer at Silent Voice and says, “I’m grateful to ShareLife –supported Silent Voice and want to be a role model for Deaf kids, like Mike was to me.” Last year more than 600 deaf children received help through ShareLife-supported Silent Voice’s Sign Language Summer Camps.

On the Wednesdays April 19 and 26 from 7:00-9:00 p.m., in the St. Paul’s room at the Centre,  a reflective  input and sharing, on the Resurrection stories will be presented  with the aim of deepening one’s prayer life and understanding of these precious, timely texts in our faith tradition. Facilitator: Sr. Gabriel Mary cps. All welcome!

Kindly note that on Tuesday, April 11, Mass will be celebrated at 8:00 AM in the Centre Chapel rather than the normal time as Fr. Michael will be attending the Chrism Mass at 11:00 AM held at St. Michael’s Cathedral on that day.

The St. Vincent De Paul Society truck will be here for “Bundle Sunday” during the weekend of April 22-23,  after all the Masses to collect textiles, footwear, clothing, etc. both used and new.  The truck will be on the Markham Street side of the Church.
