Two books have recently been published by clergy connected to St. Peter’s parish community.
Deacon Matthew Hendzel, SJ, who has served here and given presentations on the afterlife, has recently written a book entitled Soul-Making by Grace: Purgatory’s Past, Present, and Future. It is available from Amazon for $45.12. Deacon Matthew will be ordained a priest on Saturday, June 15th and celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving here at 9:00 am on Sunday, June 16th. |
Fr. Michael McGourty, pastor of St. Peter’s Church has also published a book entitled Sent Out Into the World: A Liturgical Theology for a Parish Community and the New Evangelization—A Reading of The Order of the Dedication of a Church. Celebrating the Jesuit Ordinations
Deacons Brook Stacey, sj, and Matthew Hendzel, sj, will be ordained priests at Our Lady of Lourdes on Saturday, June 15 and Deacon Matthew will celebrate his Mass of thanksgiving here on Sunday, June 16 at 9:00 am and Deacon Brook at 11:15 am that same day. Please pray for them and for more vocations. There will be reception following the 11:15 am Mass on June 16 to celebrate with them.

International Eucharistic Congress – Join the Archdiocese of Toronto Delegation!
Traditionally every four years, the Holy Father invites pilgrims from around the world to join in an International Eucharistic Congress. This year’s event will take place in Quito, Ecuador from September 8–15, 2024. Limited spaces are available for pilgrims from the Archdiocese of Toronto to join with other Canadian delegates to travel to Ecuador. Saint Vincent de Paul Free Summer Camps: Sign Up June 1, 2024
Exciting news! Saint Vincent de Paul’s Camp Marygrove (girls, ages 5-13) and Camp Ozanam (boys, ages 7-12) are offering FREE one-week summer camps throughout July and August to children who may not otherwise have the means to enjoy this wonderful summer experience. To apply, you must meet with SVDP St. Peter’s volunteers on Saturday June 1 between 3-5pm in the parish auditorium to complete the necessary paperwork. Call 416.534.4219 ext. 229 to schedule your appointment or for more information. You will need to bring a ‘to size’ copy of your child’s Ontario health card.
