About New Beginnings at St. Peter’s Parish Centre
New Beginnings is a Bereavement Ministry support group. We offer compassionate care and mutual support to help each member navigate through the difficult terrain of grief. If you or someone you know is dealing with the loss of a loved one or loss from separation or divorce, we’re here to help! The New Beginnings program at St. Peter’s parish will be offering two day-time bereavement support groups:
Bereaved Individuals – (Those mourning a death)
Meets every Tuesday
Starts: February 28th, 2017
Ends: March 28th, 2017
Time: 10 am – 12 pm OR 1 pm – 3 pm
Separated or Divorced
Meets every Saturday
Starts: February 24th, 2017
Ends: March 25th, 2017
Time: 1 pm – 4 pm
Tax Receipts for 2016
Parish tax receipts for weekly donations, PAG, second collections, Capital campaign donations and donations to ShareLife made through the parish will be mailed out the week of February 12.
Tax receipts for the Family of Faith Campaign will be issued and mailed by the Archdiocese. Receipts for Donate Now made by the Credit card will also be issued and mailed by the Archdiocese of Toronto. Thank you very much for your continued support.
Senior Men’s High School Vocations Retreat (Grades 11 & 12)
The Office of Vocations is hosting a day retreat at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 24 Cheritan Avenue Toronto on Saturday, February 11, 2017 (from 9am to 5pm). Provides a time to pray, interact & socialize with other young Catholic men. Seminarians deliver talks on practical aspects of faith. Day includes Holy Mass, Adoration & Confession. Plan to join in an ecumenical prayer service, led by His Eminence Cardinal Thomas Collins, Chaldean Catholic Bishop Emanuel Shaleta, Coptic Orthodox Bishop Anba Mina, Anglican Suffragan Bishop Peter Fenty, and accompanied by other city-wide religious leaders on: Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 3:00 PM at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica, 65 Bond Street (north-East corner of Bond and Shuter streets). World Day for Consecrated Life – February 2, 2017
On Thursday, February 2, the Church celebrates the World Day for Consecrated Life.
In the Archdiocese of Toronto we are blessed to have living and serving among us more than 900 religious men and women of 100 different religious congregations. This World Day for Consecrated Life is a wonderful opportunity for us to thank God for the gifts of these religious sisters, brothers and priests and to pray for God’s blessing upon them in their efforts to faithfully live the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience.
Bishop Wayne Kirkpatrick will preside at a special Mass on Sunday, January 29 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Basilica, Toronto in celebration of the vocation and witness of these special men and women religious who are such a vital and important part of the life and ministry of the Church in our Archdiocese. All are welcome to attend.
Farewell to Christina Labriola
With great sadness the parish must say good-bye to Ms. Christina Labriola, our Parish Music Director. Christina has provided our parish with beautiful music and faith-filled service for several years. After lengthy consideration, Christina has resigned in order to concentrate more fully on her doctoral studies. The parish thanks her for her service and wishes all of God’s blessings in her future studies, work, ministry and endeavours.
Ministry Fair
The Ministry and Groups Fair will be hosted in the Parish Hall after each mass on January 28 & 29. If your parish group or ministry would like to participate, or if you would like to volunteer to help that weekend, please contact the parish office by January 24th.
The Source – Sisters of Life: January 26, 2017 at 7pm
The Sisters of Life will be hosting “The Source” here in our Church on Thursday, January 26 at 7:00 PM. You are invited to come for an evening of Eucharistic Adoration (7:00 PM – 8:00 PM) followed by Christian fellowship ( a Social at 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM ). Confession will also be available during Adoration.
