Maturing Adults, December 8, 2016
You are invited to a special gathering to celebrate the Advent-Christmas season on Thursday, December 8 in the Centre auditorium from 1:15 – 3:00 p.m. There will be a prayer service followed by a social. To add to this celebration you are invited to contribute a “potluck” contribution to the refreshments. Plan to join us and bring a friend!
Vocation Discernment Retreat
The Office of Vocations invites single Catholic men, 17 years and older to attend a Vocations Discernment Retreat from Dec 9 to 11, 2016 at Manresa Spiritual Renewal Centre, Pickering. (Starts on Friday at 7 pm). This is a good retreat for men who are at crossroads in discerning God’s desired Vocation for them. The retreat offers Guided reflections, Holy Mass, Adoration, confession and the assistance of a vocations team. Suggested donation of $150 to help cover costs. Rehearsal for Christmas Pageant – On Sundays of Dec. 4, 11 & 18, 2016
Calling all young aspiring actors and actresses (ages 4 to 12)! If you would like to be part of the parish’s Christmas Pageant, please attend a rehearsal after the 11:15 AM Mass on Sundays of December 4, 11 and 18 in the Church. This year the Christmas Pageant will take place immediately before the parish’s 5:00 PM Christmas Eve Family Mass (December 24th).

A Week Long Busy Persons Advent Retreat
Opening Session: In the Church after any Mass, weekend of December 10 -11, 2016
Closing Session: will be on Saturday, December 17, after 5:00 PM Mass
Description of Retreat: The retreatants will meet after Mass in the Church for an explanatory introduction where they will be given reflections booklets ($3:00 each) for the week of prayer. They will be asked to commit themselves to an hour of prayer daily (can be divided up i.e. 1/2 hour in morning and ½ hour in evening or in 15 min. sections). It is strongly recommended that retreatants meet with a spiritual guide for 1/2 hour appointment at the Centre from Monday to Thursday ( 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM) and on Friday from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM or in the evenings of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30 – 9:00 PM
Closure will include debriefing / sharing, suggestions on how to continue one’s spiritual journey and a social.
St. Peter’s 90th Anniversary Celebration
Did you know our church is turning 90 this December? All are invited to join in a liturgical celebration of the 90th anniversary of the founding of St. Peter’s Church, on Sunday, December 11 at 7:30 PM. A special Vigil with music, prayer, and the Office of Readings will be celebrated. A musical prelude will begin at 7:15 PM. Please join us in marking this important milestone!
