Saint Vincent de Paul FREE Summer Camps are back!

Decorative ImageAfter a two-year shut down Camp Marygrove (for girls, ages 5-13) and Camp Ozanam (for boys, ages 7-12) have spaces open for those children in are parish who would not otherwise be able to afford a summer camp experience. These one-week summer camps are free and run consecutively through July and August. Completed applications need to be forwarded to Toronto Central Council by May 20th due to reduced numbers of spots necessary to comply with pandemic protocols and best practices.

Interested campers and at least one of their guardians must meet with SVDP St. Peter’s volunteers to complete the application forms. This year in addition to the application form, and ‘to size’ copies of the front and back of the child’s Ontario health card, we will also require printed verification of two approved Covid-19 vaccinations. To schedule an appointment or find out more please leave a message at 416.534.4219 extension 229. Leave your name, number of children, home address including postal code and the best number and time to reach you.

If you think you would like to join Saint Vincent de Paul’s St. Peter’s volunteers or would like to find out more information about their ministry to the poor and marginalized of our community, you can leave a message at the same number. Serving in Hope.

Celebrating Mothers!

Decorative ImageToday we honour mothers. We take time to celebrate our mothers and the many maternal figures in our lives. We are grateful for the gift of their love, care and nurturing, not only today, but always. We also remember the mothers who are no longer with us, but whose memories we will always cherish.

“ShareLife is the way the rubber hits the road. This is how we validate the legitimacy and integrity of our Christian life: not by the words we speak, but by the love we share, in practical ways. That’s what we do with ShareLife.” – Cardinal Thomas Collins

Thus far we have raised $16,896 toward our goal of 42,000.

Today is ShareLife Sunday. Please give generously.

Volunteer Recognition Week – April 24-30, 2022

Decorative ImageThe Archdiocese of Toronto’s Volunteer Recognition Week, Hands and Heart of Service, will be celebrated from April 24-30, 2022, in collaboration with Volunteer Canada’s National Volunteer Week.

This is a time of thanks and appreciation for our dedicated volunteers who selflessly serve our parish community with their hands and heart, following the example of Jesus and in response to His call to service for each of us.

“Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.” – John 13:14.

Every day across the Archdiocese of Toronto, parishioners generously give their time and talent to nurture and strengthen the community and share the Gospel. We recognize that our parish volunteers are at the heart of the Archdiocesan call to stewardship and are instrumental in all that we do. We thank and recognize the difference you make in your faithful and wholehearted service to our parish ministries. A special thank you to our Volunteer Screening Coordinators and Committee Members, Church Cleaners, Liturgical Hospitality Teams, Eucharistic Ministers, Choirs, Collection Counters, Ministry Leaders, and the faith-affirming efforts of Catechists, Lay Pastoral Visitors, and Baptismal Preparation teams, and volunteers in ministries not named.
