All Souls Day – November 2, 2021 & Praying for Our Beloved dead in November
In the month of November it is our tradition to pray for our beloved. The parish will have a “Book of Remembrance” for the faithful departed and the names of all those family members written in it will be remembered at all masses throughout November. Parishioners may add names of deceased family members or friends for whom they wish the parish to offer prayers during this season of remembrance. On November 2, All Souls day the parish will have Masses for All Souls at 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
The parish has invited the families of those who have had a death this year to the 7:00 PM Mass.

The Apostle’s Creed Lecture Series
What does it mean to say, “I believe”?
For thousands of years, The Creed has arguably been the most recognizable confession of faith amongst Christians. As social, political, cultural, and religious turmoil of all kinds have threatened God’s people throughout the centuries, this confession has stood as a signal fire of the Church’s unique and distinct identity in the midst of an ever-changing world. To this day, Catholics, Orthodox, and Protestants alike profess The Creed at Baptisms and Confirmations, during Holy Masses, and even in prayers and songs. More than just a mindless recitation of religious words, The Creed is truly meant to act as a repeated pledge of allegiance, a constant renewal of vows before God, a continual commitment to conform our lives according to all that we claim to believe. And yet, just like so many of the gifts we receive, The Creed can be so easy to take for granted, and we can quickly forget and lose sight of its true worth.
Over the course of 12 weeks this Fall we will dive into this ancient yet ever-present treasure of our faith. Each week we will unpack and explore a particular section of the Creed and wrestle with questions like, “Should these beliefs even matter to me?”, “Are these claims actually true?”, “How would my life be different if I really lived in light of these realities?”, and so many more.
If these are questions you’ve found yourself asking, if you’ve wanted to further your understanding of and deepen your love for our faith, or even if this is the first time you’ve really considered some of these things seriously, we would be delighted to have you join us.
“I believe; help my unbelief!” -Mark 9:24

Invite a Friend to Become Catholic!!!!!
As Christians, we are invited to share the Good News with others. Today this can be done by inviting someone to consider joining the R.C.I.A. in the parish where they would like to attend Sunday Mass. The “R.C.I.A.” is the Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults. Through the celebration of these rites in their local parish community, individuals become members of the Catholic Church through their local parish community. These rites are accompanied by a catechetical process which educates those who are becoming Catholic in the teachings of Christ and the traditions of the Church that He established to continue His mission and spread the Good News.
Here at St. Peter’s those who wish to become Catholic are invited to begin attending Mass in our parish community each Sunday. As they do this, they are accompanied by the R.C.I.A team and meet on Tuesday evenings to learn about our faith, deepen in a prayer relationship with Jesus, and discover how they can find their place in our Christian community through Sunday worship, service of neighbour and prayer. The R.C.I.A. at St. Peter’s will begin in September. The group will meet throughout the length of the school year. The Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) will be celebrated at Easter (April 16, 2022) and the group will continue to meet until the end of the Pentecost season (June 2022).
For those already Baptized in another Christian denomination a shorter path towards joining the Catholic Church may be possible, depending on their previous faith formation.
Starting Tuesday evening, September 14, 2021 from 7:15 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. in the Parish Hall. The R.C.I.A. program here at St. Peter’s invites all non-Catholics who are interested in learning about our Catholic faith. The program will meet weekly on Tuesday evening at 7:15 p.m. The participants in the R.C.I.A. program are called Catechumens, or Candidates. A Catechumen is one who has never been baptized and is considering becoming a Catholic. A Candidate is someone who has been previously baptized in a Christian denomination other than Catholic. Please pray for the success of this year’s R.C.I.A. program. Please call to register with Fr. Michael at 416-534-4219 ext. 211
