“In Luke’s writings the ancient practice of hospitality—the custom of welcoming travelers or strangers into one’s home and establishing relationships with them—becomes the prism through which Jesus’ disciples can view one another and others as valuable children of God.” Andrew Arterbury.
A three part input/reflection series will be presented on Luke’s universal theme of hospitality. Tuesdays, September 24, October 1 and 15 at 7:00 p.m. in the St. Peter’s room (church hall)

Federal Election Debate From A Catholic Perspective

Catholics are called to be engaged in the public square. As we prepare for the October 21 federal election, you are invited to be part of one of the largest live debates in Canada. On October 3, join 1,000 Catholics from across the archdiocese as they listen to candidates from the four major political parties debate issues of importance to Catholics. Moderated by veteran political journalist, the evening will also include reflections and prayer offered by Cardinal Thomas Collins. Fall Fair 2019
St. Peters Parish will be hosting this year’s FALL FAIR EVENT on Saturday November 2, 12noon- 7 PM and Sunday November 3, 2019 10 AM- 5 PM.
What is the Fall Fair? An annual community event with amazing food, great books, tasty desserts, a chance to win fun prizes, flea market- hidden treasures and exciting entertainment.
Donating for the Fall Fair: If you have items you would like to donate to the Fall Fair, we accept donations of – books, CDs, videos, VHS, small appliances. Please note, NO damaged goods, clothes, furniture and large appliances. Details on when/where to donate are advertised on our website, Facebook and parish bulletin.
Donations: We will be accepting this year’s Fall Fair donations starting Tuesday October 1, 2019, please deliver your donations to the parish office.
Funds raised will be used for: Winter Welcome Table and fixes needed at St. Peter’s Parish.

Wisdom from the Church’s Holy Men and Women
Anticipating the up-coming canonization of new saints this October, we are presenting a program on six (6) holy men and women who hopefully will be one day canonized. A variety of guest speakers will discuss the lives and spirituality of these great examples of holiness. on Wednesday evenings in the Church hall at 7:00 p.m. The first talk – John Henry Newman presented by Monsignor A. Sheehy on Wednesday, September 18. All are welcome!

Reading Group: Karol Wojtyla’s Love & Responsibility: A Study Group
Background: Love and Responsibility is a book written by Karol Wojtyla before he became Pope John Paul II and was originally published in Polish in 1960 and in English in 1981.
Discussion Topic: The talk will cover some of the basics of discerning spiritual movements and also the examine prayer.
