ShareLife Goal Exceeded by parishioners of St. Peter’s Parish!!!!

Thank you to all who have contributed this year to the parish’s ShareLife Campaign. This year we have exceeded our goal and collected the most we have ever collected for Sharelife. So far we have confirmed donations in the amount of $33,829.95. Our goal for the year was $25,600.00. This would not have been possible without the generosity of every donor who gave this year. Special thanks go to the parish’s campaign chairperson, Mr. Jeff Mesina. Thank you to all who gave so generously to support the 34 different agencies that depend on ShareLife.

Happy Father’s Day
The Parish Community of St. Peter’s Church wish a very Happy Father’s Day and all of God’s blessings to our fathers, grandfathers, godfathers and many other father figures in our lives. We also remember fathers who are no longer with us, but whose memories we will always cherish. HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!
The Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ
“Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up on the last day; for my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink” (John 6:55-56).
Last week in his homily, Father Paul explained how the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity can best be understood as a celebration of the fact that God has so much love that He exists as a Trinity of persons and desires to always be in relationship with us. God, Father Paul reminded us, is love and exists always as a relationship of three persons within Himself and is always in relationship with us. Ultimately, the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity, he said, was celebrated to help us understand how much God loves us and how much He desires to be in relationship with us—all the time. Continue reading

Living the Gospel by helping women in crisis…
Early in life, Tanya was unfortunately sexually abused by her extended family in her native country, who regarded her as a worthless, dangerous person who should be chained up. She became suicidal and was admitted into the hospital. Tanya then fled to Canada as a refugee searching for safety and happiness. She first came to Street Haven three years ago through their Learning Centre, enrolling in the literacy and numeracy classes. The staff connected her to their Emergency Shelter, where she stayed and had access to legal aid and other vital supports to assist her through the refugee process. “I now have hope since I came to ShareLife supported Street Haven and know that I have the tools to move forward with my life.” shares Tanya. Street Haven helped Tanya move forward with her life and she now lives in a safe home where she can start again.
Please make a sacrificial gift to ShareLife through your parish, or at www.sharelife.org
