Currently, our Catholic partners are not present in Libya to coordinate relief efforts and as such we are unable to accept donations to aid those affected by the flooding at this time. For those wishing to offer support to the people of Libya, please consider a gift through the Canadian Red Cross in the following ways:

Please continue to pray for those who have died, for those who are missing or displaced because of these tragic disasters in both Morocco and Libya and for all who are working hard to provide relief and rescue in both locations.

There will be a second collection for the Indigenous Healing and Reconciliation Fund on Sept. 30/Oct. 1, as a part of a national effort announced by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops. In honour of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi on October 4, the parish will celebrate the blessing of pets on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 7:00 pm outside the main doors of the Church. All pets and owners are welcome. For the safety of all people and animals, all pets must be leashed, caged or held in owners’ control.

Get ready to spice up the Fall Fair with your delectable creations! We are looking for generous bakers to contribute their homemade goodies to our Bake Table. Your treats will make this year’s fair unforgettable!

This year’s Fall Fair takes place on Saturday, September 30, from 12 pm to 7 pm and Sunday, October 1, from 10 am to 3 pm, in our auditorium.  We are looking for Cookies, Pies, Cakes, Muffins, Brownies or any Fall-themed treats.  Your support sweetens our Fall Fair! Let us make this Fall Fair a tasty success together!

We are also looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help as Booth attendants, Arts and Crafts Assistants, Food booth helpers, Stage performer assistants, Setup and Cleaning Crew.

The theme announced by His holiness Pope Francis for this year’s World Day of Migrants and Refugees is “Free to Choose Whether to Migrate or to Stay.” In his message, Pope Francis acknowledges that while the decision to migrate should always be free, in many cases it is not. This point was reflected by St. John Paul II in his message for the 90th World Day of Migrants & Refugees, in which he wrote, “Building conditions of peace means in practice being seriously committed to safeguarding first of all the right not to emigrate, that is, the right to live in peace and dignity in one’s own country.” As he concluded his message, Pope Francis referenced the words of the Lord when He said”…I was stranger, and you welcomed me” reminding us that the Lord’s words are a “constant admonition to see in the migrant not simply a brother or sister in difficulty, but Christ himself, who knocks at our door.”
