Bulletin for week of February 12, 2023

One of the resolutions that came out of the parish’s “Listening to Indigenous Voices” process is the conclusion that this process is just beginning, and that as a community we need to continue to explore what this issue means for us. In that spirit, I would like to share with you four pastoral letters that the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops have written on the subject of Reconciliation with Indigenous Persons. These letters are written to:
I would invite all to read these letters as a way of growing in understanding in this area. May we all pray and work towards truth, reconciliation and healing.
Fr. Michael

Lent Begins on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 (Ash Wednesday). The 40 days of Lent are a special time of spiritual renewal in the Church. The parish will have two Masses on Ash Wednesday with the distribution of Ashes. These will be at 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM in the Church. During Lent the Stations of the Cross will be prayed Friday evenings in the Church after 7:00 PM Mass. On Ash Wednesday, confessions will take place in the Church after 7 PM Mass until 9 PM.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Peter’s Conference, would like to thank everyone for contributing generously to our weekly collection baskets as you exit Mass and our Christmas envelop drive. The funds collected help us turn Concern into Action, and enable us to respond to calls for help from those most in need in our parish community.
Through your support and generosity, you have made it possible for us to help over two dozen families in our parish with groceries, clothing, and furniture throughout 2022, and a little extra special Christmas help. We extend physical aid, but also friendship to those less fortunate and are always looking for people who might consider joining us in our vocation. If you would like to find out more about volunteering with St. Peters’ St. Vincent de Paul, leave us a message at (416) 534-4219 ext. 229.
On behalf of our volunteers, our parish family, and those people whom we’ve helped, thank you and God’s blessings and peace be with you in 2023.

Is the Holy Spirit moving you to find out more about His role in your life? Have you ever wondered why the second reading is always a letter from St. Paul that reflects on the workings and guidance of the Holy Spirit? The Toronto Paulist Associates would like to introduce you to one of the greatest American Catholic missionaries and saints of the 19th century who, like St. Paul, underwent a conversion and was driven by the Holy Spirit to preach the Good News to secular America using media tools of the modern age. Dare to be moved by the Holy Spirit – plan your night out to a screening of ISAAC HECKER AND THE JOURNEY OF CATHOLIC AMERICA which will take place on February 9th at 7:00 p.m. in the church auditorium. Who knows where He will lead you.
