St. Peter’s is looking to host an Alpha series starting on Thursday March 3, 2022 at 7:00 pm.  As the Covid cases continue to rise in Ontario, our parish is looking to host an Alpha series online. If you’re interested in joining, please let us know via email, by no later than Friday Feb 18, 2022. We can be contacted at youngadult-youthmin@stpeterstoronto.ca 

Once registered you will receive the program details and access link each week. The first session will be on Thursday March 3, 2022 at 7:00pm, and will run every Thursday evening until April 7, 2022.

Friars’ Student Writing Contest 2022 – Win Great Prizes!

Decorative ImageIt is time once again for the Friars’ Student Writing Award. Students aged 13-19 are invited to submit a 450-500-word essay for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, celebrated from January 18 to 25, 2022.

This year, the theme and the resources for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2022 have been prepared by the Middle East Council of Churches based in Beirut, Lebanon. The theme of the contest is:

“We saw the star in the East, and we came to worship him” (Mt. 2:2).

The deadline for the writing contest is Monday, February 14, 2022 at 2 p.m.

“We Have Seen His Star in the East…” Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2022.

Decorative ImageWe Have Seen His Star in the East.” This is the theme that was chosen for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity this year.  The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity takes place each year in the week leading up to the Solemnity of the Conversion of St. Paul, which is celebrated on January 25th. Along with this theme, the organizing committee for this international week of prayer also wrote a meditation to accompany this week’s prayer intention. At the same time that we are celebrating the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, this Sunday in the Catholic Tradition is Word of God Sunday; a celebration introduced to the Church by Pope Francis in 2019. Until further notice, the parish office will be open to the public only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m.
