Christmas Week 2017 – Signup sheets
The signup sheets for Lectors & Eucharistic Ministers will be available on the weekend of November 25-26 in the Sacristy. The deadline for the sign-up will be the weekend of December 9-10. New schedule for the Christmas week will be available in the sacristy the weekend of December 16-17
Nurturing the Treasure Within
Where I am presently living at Holy Rosary Parish, during the renovations of the rectory, I do not have access to internet and cable. This has happily meant that I do not watch a lot of television. Last week, when I was in Vancouver for the National Liturgy Conference, I was able to watch more television than I normally do in a month. One of the things that surprised me is the number of television shows that are on related to developing and celebrating the talents that some people possess. Some of the shows that can be found on the television include titles like “The Voice,” “America’s Got Talent,” Britain’s Got Talent,” “So You think you can Dance,” and “Dancing with the Stars.” All of these shows have in common the desire of those who appear on the show to have their unique talents and qualities recognized in the hopes of becoming famous. The Source of Mercy with the Sisters of Life
Saturday, November 18, 7 – 9 p.m. St. Peter’s Parish
A Holy Hour with music led by the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal from New York. The night includes confessions, a Eucharistic procession, testimonies of mercy, and a reflection on mercy.

Doors Open Workshop – Thursday, November 23 at 7:00 PM in the Centre, St. Paul’s Room
St. Peter’s Parish will host a Doors Open Workshop to help our community consider ways of making our community accessible to all people. This will take place at 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 23rd in the St. Paul’s Room in the Centre. This workshop will examine the following: Our Doors Are Open helps faith communities across Ontario to welcome people with all abilities by creating communities that:
- Recognize barriers that prevent the full participation of people with disabilites
- Brainstorm simple and creative solutions to remove these barriers; and
- Welcome and fully include people with disabilities in their community.
The Open Your Doors “community-inclusion” workshop is designed specifically to help individual faith-communities to:
- Develop what we call “inclusive thinking”
- Reach out to their members with disabilities
- Engage those members in full participation
- Discuss ways to create accessible media and communications
- Allow them to assess the physical and social inclusivity of a faith-community
Remembrance Day – November 11, 2017
On November 11th, we remember in thanksgiving those who made and who continue to make the supreme sacrifice for us in time of war. We pray that the offering of their lives may not have been in vain. Today we dedicate ourselves to the cause of justice, freedom and peace, and for the wisdom and strength to build a better world.
May we keep all those who are overseas in our prayers, that they may return home safely
