Celebrating Mothers!

Today we honour mothers. We take time to celebrate our mothers and the many maternal figures in our lives. We are grateful for the gift of their love, care and nurturing, not only today, but always. We also remember the mothers who are no longer with us, but whose memories we will always cherish.

Mass for Anointing of the Sick – Sunday, May 26 at 2:30 PM

The parish will celebrate a Mass with the Sacrament of the Anointing of the sick on Sunday, May 26, at 2:30 PM. The Sacrament of the sick can be celebrated for any person who is ill and in danger of death or elderly. The sacrament is intended to bring physical and spiritual healing to those who are seriously ill. It also asks God for the grace to accept the suffering that comes with serious illness or diminished health due to age. If this applies to you or anyone you know, please consider attending or telling others about this celebration

Catholic Education Week

“Living as Joyful Disciples”

During Catholic Education Week (May 5-10,2019), we give thanks for the gift of publicly funded Catholic Education in our province. Catholic schools foster supportive communities where young people can experience the joy of God’s love and understand the Christian mission in the world. Together, our parishes, educators and families sow the seeds of faith with the next generation of Catholics, challenging them to live as joyful and faithful disciples. Archdiocesan Day of Prayer for Vocations

Cardinal Collins has designated Friday, May 3, 2019 as the Archdiocesan Day of Prayer for Vocations. We have three prayer intentions on this day: for the right discernment of vocations still unfolding (from 9:00 to 11:00 am); for endurance in committed vocations (from 11:00 – 12 noon); and for an increase of priestly and religious vocations from (12 noon to 2:00 pm). Our parish prayer initiative will be adoration in the Centre Chapel from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. If you are unable to attend this event, please take a moment to pray for vocations on Friday, May 3. Vocation resources can be found on the Office of Vocations’ website: www.vocationstoronto.ca.

Living the Gospel by welcoming newcomers to Canada

Rashida endured years of domestic abuse while living in Egypt. Fearing her husband would abuse their children, she successfully applied for refugee status in Canada. Rashida arrived in Toronto, not knowing the language, what to do, or who could help. Fortunately, she met an Arabic speaker who told her about Catholic Cross cultural Services (CCS). CCS helped her navigate the immigration process and access the resources she needed. “CCS saved my life,” Rashida says. “Today I have money of my own, an apartment, and my children are finally safe and happy.”

Thus far our parish has raised $10,733 of our $44,300Please pray for the success of our campaign and give as generously as you are able to help us reach our goal.

May 5 is ShareLife Sunday. Please give generously.
