Please note that the Parish Office will be closed on Monday, May 22 – Victoria Day. Mass that day will be at 10:00 AM in the Centre Chapel. There will be no adoration in the Chapel on this day.

Take a 6-week Bible study course on “The Bible and the Virgin Mary” to find out. This is a Bible Study produced by the Journey Through Scripture group, and it will be led by Loretta Silva. It will run every Thursday from 7-9 p.m. in the St. Paul Classroom at the Parish Centre, From May 25 – June 30. Do you wish to learn more about the Catholic Faith?

Sister Gabriel Mary Riddle cps will be facilitating a five week overview of the faith featuring the 5 week DVD/Discussion program called “Symbolon, the Catholic Faith Explained” on Wednesday  evenings at 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm from May 31 to June 28 in the Parish Centre. All are welcome.

Our parish – St. Vincent De Paul Society conference is taking requests for the registration of children who would like to attend summer camp. This is a one-week excursion – free of charge – for those children who would not otherwise be able to afford a summer camp experience. For registration and further information, please call (416) 534-4219, ext.229 (SVDP), and leave the appropriate information (including a phone #); then a member of St. Vincent De Paul will contact you. Registration open until May 27.

The parish will be making a pilgrimage to Martyr’s Shrine in Midland on Saturday, July 22, 2017.

We will leave the parish at 8:00 am and arrive at the Shrine at 10:00 am. This will give time for prayer and a tour before attending the noon Mass at the Shrine. We will have an hour to buy or eat a lunch that has been brought by each person. At 2:00 pm we will have a tour of the Huron Village and return by bus at 4:00 pm for an expected arrival at 6:00 pm. Catholic Women’s group will have their next gathering at Marylake Shrine on Saturday, May 20. We will meet at 10:00 am at the Parish Centre and then head to the Shrine. Anyone interested may join us.For more information please contact Sr. Gabriel Riddle at the parish office (416-534-219).

Thank you to the Pastoral Council and to all who attended the Coffee Sunday for my Twenty-Fifth anniversary of ordination. I am grateful for your kindness, warm wishes and cards. Most of all, I am grateful to God to be a priest and to be your pastor. Let us continue to pray for one another.

Today we honour mothers. We take time to celebrate our mothers and the many maternal figures in our lives. We are grateful for the gift of their love, care and nurturing, not only today, but always. We also remember the mothers who are no longer with us, but whose memories we will always cherish. Happy Mother’s Day!

Living the Gospel by welcoming refugee families to Canada…

Julie and her younger sister arrived in Canada through the help of the Office for Refugees to meet a resettlement group that welcomed them with a home and open arms. As orphans from a Refugee Camp in Ghana, they now have a safe place to call home in a country where their lives are not threatened. Julie is interested in studying and becoming a nurse in the maternity ward. She feels it is a passion she wants to pursue after watching her mother become ill and pass away after her sister’s birth. They now have hope for a better future and are no longer alone because of the work done through ShareLife-supported Office for Refugees. Last year, the ShareLife-supported Office For Refugees assisted 6,000 people with their resettlement needs.
